Gym Fees in Guwahati in 2026: Average Cost, Gold's Gym Ulubari and Ganeshguri, and Cheaper Options

Average gym fees in Guwahati: about ₹1,140 a month

The most recent average for a gym in Guwahati comes from Numbeo, which collects prices from people who live in the city. Its Guwahati page, updated 26 October 2026, gave a monthly fitness club membership of ₹1,140, with residents reporting between ₹500 and ₹1,500. The page as a whole drew on 206 entries from 23 contributors over the past year, so the gym figure rests on a modest sample, but it is the best current guide to what an ordinary Guwahati gym charges.

That ₹1,500 top of the reported range is the useful number. It suggests most neighbourhood gyms in Beltola, Chandmari, Zoo Road or Six Mile should quote somewhere in the ₹500–1,500 band, and a gym asking much more should be able to show why: air-conditioning, newer machines, steam rooms, parking or classes. We found no individual neighbourhood gym in Guwahati that publishes its monthly fee online, so the counter is still where prices are set.

Gold's Gym fees in Guwahati: Ulubari and Ganeshguri side by side

Gold's Gym is the one national chain we found with open gyms and price pages in Guwahati. It has two branches in the city, out of five in Assam, and since February 2022 its India business has been controlled by cult.fit. The two Guwahati branches publish their prices differently, so we've laid them out together (checked October 2026).

Ulubari's bill is fully itemised: ₹14,255 for the year, a ₹1,000 enrolment fee and ₹763 GST at 5%, for ₹16,018. Spread over 12 months that is about ₹1,335, only a little above Numbeo's city average, for a gym with group exercise, HIIT and spin classes, a nutritionist, steam and showers. Ganeshguri shows only the span of its plans, ₹8,466 at the bottom and ₹30,000 at the top, without saying which plan costs what, so ask the desk for each plan's price, the enrolment fee and the GST on paper.

What the Gold's Gym premium costs over a Guwahati year

Twelve months at Numbeo's ₹1,140 average comes to ₹13,680. Twelve months at Gold's Gym Ulubari is ₹16,018 including the enrolment fee. The difference is ₹2,338 a year, or about ₹195 a month, for a chain gym with classes, steam and a nutritionist on the amenity list. If those extras matter to you and Ulubari is close to home, the premium is small. If you only lift, a neighbourhood gym in your own area saves the money and the commute.

Ganeshguri is harder to read. Its page shows ₹8,466 as the lowest plan subtotal and ₹30,000 as the highest. If, as is usual, the lowest figure is the three-month plan, that would be about ₹2,822 a month before GST, more than double Ulubari's rate; and a ₹30,000 annual plan would be ₹2,500 a month. Neither mapping is stated on the page, which is why the plan-by-plan quote on paper matters. Ask too whether the enrolment fee is charged on top, as it is at Ulubari.

People also search for gym equipment prices in Guwahati, usually to work out whether a home set-up beats a membership. We found no Guwahati shop that publishes its prices online, so we can't give a local number. The useful yardstick is the year: a pair of adjustable dumbbells, a bench and a mat that cost less than Ulubari's ₹16,018 pay for themselves within twelve months, and you lose nothing to travel or monsoon closures. FITPASS across Guwahati's localities

FITPASS's Guwahati page lists partner gyms by locality rather than by name, starting with Abhaypur, Adabari, Ajanta Path, Ambari, Ambikagirinagar, Amingaon, Ananda Nagar and Ashok Path, with more behind a "see all" link. Amingaon is on the north bank of the Brahmaputra, so a pass can cover a gym near home on one side of the river and one near the office on the other. At ₹1,750 or ₹2,083 a month it costs more than the city's ₹1,140 average, so it pays only if you really use both.

Government gyms in Guwahati: Sarusajai and the GMC park gym

Guwahati's two public options are real but limited. In March 2020, the Sports Authority of Assam opened a gym and fitness centre at the Sarusajai Sports Complex. The Sentinel reported that it would serve athletes in the complex's regular coaching programmes and those training for or competing in events there. It did not mention fees, timings or access for the general public, so ask at Sarusajai before you plan around it.

In 2018, Guwahati Municipal Corporation opened an open-air gym at Mahabir Park in Fancy Bazar as part of a city beautification drive, according to Northeast Now. The report didn't mention a fee. Open-air park gyms like this usually have fixed machines for basic pushing, pulling and leg work, enough for a beginner's routine but not for progressive strength training.

Anytime Fitness is on its way to Guwahati

In October 2026, Anytime Fitness's India site had two Guwahati club pages. One, on the first floor of a business centre on R G Baruah Road in Ambikagiri Nagar on the Zoo Road side, was marked "Opening Soon" and listed 24-hour access as a feature. The other was a pre-sale page inviting people to become founding members, with no street address. Neither showed a price. If you are near Zoo Road and want late-night access, it may be worth waiting for its pre-sale offer; otherwise there is no published number to compare.

Before you pay a Guwahati gym

1. Check Sunday hours. Ulubari lists no Sunday opening; Ganeshguri opens 7 AM to noon. If Sunday is your long session, that matters.
2. Ask about parking. Ganeshguri lists two- and four-wheeler parking; on GS Road that is not a given.
3. Confirm 5% GST. GST on gym services fell from 18% to 5% on 22 September 2025, as The Tribune reported. Ulubari's bill already shows 5%.
4. Ask about a pause. For Bihu, Durga Puja or the wettest monsoon weeks, find out whether the gym freezes memberships and for how long.

6. Try the hour you'll use. A gym that is calm at 11 AM may be packed at 6:30 PM.
