Government gym fees in Rajkot: the RMC's gyms
The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) runs gyms alongside its other sports facilities, and people register for them online through the RMC's sports member registration page. That page asks for an Aadhaar card or passport number and a mobile number, then lets you choose the game, batch duration, batch gender and batch type. It doesn't display fees until you start registering, so we couldn't read the RMC's own figures.
An independent registration guide published in April 2026, which says it isn't connected to any government department, lists the RMC's fees as follows. Treat these as secondary figures until the RMC confirms them:
| RMC facility | Quarter | Half year | Year |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gym / multi activity centre (Race Course Gym, Ladies Gym) | ₹150 | Not listed | ₹600 |
| Synthetic athletic track, Race Course (also ₹200 a month) | ₹600 | ₹1,200 | ₹2,000 |
| Basketball or volleyball court | ₹500 | ₹900 | ₹1,500 |
| Tennis (two courts) | ₹3,000 | Not listed | ₹11,000 |
If the gym figures are right, an RMC gym costs ₹50 a month whichever way you pay: four quarters at ₹150 add up to the same ₹600 as a year. So there's no reason to pay annually except convenience. The same guide also gives the gym as ₹150 a month in one summary table, contradicting its own detail section, which is another reason to confirm at the counter before you budget.
The Race Course gym: hours and what to expect
Rajkot's best-known municipal gym is at Race Course, the city's central open ground. A BookMyPlayer listing places Race Course Gym in Bahumali Bhavan, opposite Race Course Road in Sadar, open 6–9 AM and 5–8:30 PM, and its review summary calls it the Rajkot Municipal Gym. The listing doesn't show a fee, and it contradicts itself on Sundays (listing all seven days but also closed on Sunday), so ring or visit before you plan your week around it.
Those hours shape how you train. A morning window of three hours and an evening window of three and a half means the gym is busiest at the edges of the working day. If you want a quieter floor, the first hour after opening is usually the best bet at any gym with fixed timings. The Race Course synthetic track, listed at ₹200 a month in the same independent guide, is a natural partner for anyone who wants to run and lift at the same complex.
Gym and track at Race Course for about ₹2,600 a year
Rajkot's Race Course complex is unusual because it puts a municipal gym and a synthetic athletic track in one place. If the independent guide's figures hold, a year of both costs ₹2,600: ₹600 for the gym and ₹2,000 for the track. That's about ₹217 a month for weights and running together, less than the cheapest private gym fee we found in the city for one month, and a fraction of Numbeo's ₹1,944 private-gym average.
A sensible week on that budget might look like this, if the batches suit your hours:
- 1
Two gym days
Full-body strength in the morning batch: a squat or leg press, a push, a pull and a hinge, three or four sets each. Add weight when the last set feels easy.
- 2
Two track days
One easy run you could talk through, and one session of short faster stretches with walking recovery. The track's measured laps make it easy to see progress.
- 3
One long walk
An hour on a weekend, anywhere you like. It costs nothing and adds up over a month.
Check two things before paying for both. First, whether the track has its own batch times separate from the gym's, since running in the 9 AM heat isn't pleasant for much of the year. Second, whether the track fee is per month or per term in practice; the guide lists ₹200 a month as well as ₹2,000 a year, so the annual plan saves ₹400 against paying monthly.
Gym in Rajkot with fees for ladies
People in Rajkot often search for a gym with fees for ladies, and the RMC is the one public answer. The independent guide lists an RMC Ladies Gym, restricted to women, at the same fees as the Race Course gym: ₹150 a quarter or ₹600 a year. It doesn't give the address or hours, so ask at the RMC's sports office or ward office which Ladies Gym is nearest and what its batch times are.
We found no private Rajkot gym publishing a separate women's rate in October 2026. If a women's batch or a women-only hour matters to you at a private gym, ask for it explicitly, and get the timing in writing, because it's often the first thing to change when a gym gets busy.
Private gyms in Rajkot: the published prices
Very few private gyms in Rajkot put their fees online. The one we found with a listed price is Ken's Gym on Pedak Road, near the Swami Vivekananda swimming pool, which BookMyPlayer lists at ₹15,000 a year, or ₹1,250 a month, open 6 AM to 1 PM and 4 to 9 PM. Gym owners can edit those listings, so confirm the figure at the gym. No national chain we checked publishes a Rajkot membership price.
For a citywide figure, Numbeo, which collects prices from residents, puts a monthly fitness club membership in Rajkot at ₹1,944, with contributors' figures from ₹833 to ₹3,000, at its 26 October 2026 update. The Rajkot page drew 213 price entries of all kinds from 19 contributors in the past year, so the gym figure is based on few reports and could move a lot with a couple of new ones. Read it as a rough midpoint for a pay-monthly private gym.
Multi-gym passes are available too. FITPASS shows FITPASS 180 at ₹1,750 a month and FITPASS 360 at ₹2,083 a month on its Rajkot page, the same national prices it shows elsewhere, with partner gyms in localities such as 150 Feet Ring Road, Airport Road, Amin Marg, Bhakti Nagar and Bajrang Wadi.

The gap between a municipal gym and a private one is large in Rajkot: on these figures, a year at an RMC gym costs less than half of one month at a typical private gym. What the private gym adds is usually longer hours, more machines and air conditioning, which matters through a Saurashtra summer. What neither includes is anyone to coach you.
Paying a Rajkot gym: GST, joining fees and receipts
- GST should be 5%. It was cut from 18% for gym services under the change announced in September 2025, as The Tribune reported. On a ₹1,250 month that's about ₹63; on ₹15,000 a year, ₹750.
- Ask whether the quoted price includes GST. Many gyms quote before tax and add it at the counter.
- Ask about a joining or admission fee. It's common at private gyms and rarely shown on listings.
- At the RMC, register online and keep the receipt. The registration page links your ID and mobile number to your batch.
- Check the batch timing before paying. Race Course closes at 9 AM in the morning, which rules it out for late risers.
- Try before you commit. Pay for one month or a quarter first. At RMC rates a quarter is only ₹150.
A low-cost Rajkot gym with a coach on your phone
A ₹50-a-month municipal gym is the cheapest equipment in Rajkot, but equipment isn't a plan. MakeMyFitness coaches you live on a video call while you train at your own gym, any gym, including an RMC one. Your coach watches through your phone, corrects your form as you lift and writes each week's sessions. We have no gym or studio in Rajkot and no one visits; every session is online, between 6 AM and 8 PM, every day.
The honest total: an RMC gym at about ₹50 a month plus our 4-week personal gym training in Rajkot plan at ₹7,070 is ₹7,120 a month.
