We checked each on 28 October 2026.

So the honest short answer to “how much is a gym in Vizag” is: plan on roughly ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 a month for an ordinary gym, more for one with a pool, steam room or a newer fit-out, and confirm the real figure at the gym you'd actually use. Average gym fees in Vizag: how to read Numbeo's ₹1,750

Numbeo, a cost-of-living site built from prices its users report, listed a monthly fitness club membership in Visakhapatnam at ₹1,750 on 26 October 2026, with a range of ₹1,000 to ₹4,000. For the city as a whole, across every item it tracks, Numbeo had 234 entries from 13 contributors in the previous 12 months. That is a small base, so treat ₹1,750 as a sensible midpoint, not a fixed price.

• Near ₹1,000 a month, the bottom of the reported range: check that the equipment you need is there, and visit at your hour to see how crowded it gets.
• Around ₹1,750, the midpoint: compare what two or three gyms at this price include, such as air-conditioning, cardio machines and staff on the floor.
• Towards ₹4,000, the top: ask what the extra pays for, whether steam, group classes or longer hours, and whether you'll actually use it.

A multi-gym pass makes sense if you move around: a Steel Plant or Gajuwaka worker who also trains near family in Akkayyapalem, or someone who wants a gym near the office on weekdays and near home at weekends. If you'll only ever use one gym, compare the pass with that gym's own monthly price, which may be lower. At ₹1,750, the cheaper FITPASS plan matches Numbeo's typical single-gym figure. Before buying a pass, check three things with the gym you'll use most: whether pass holders get the same hours as members, whether any equipment or classes are kept for full members, and whether it's still on the FITPASS list next month.

VMRDA Health Arena and GVMC's parks: the public options

Vizag's best-known public fitness space is the VMRDA Health Arena in MVP Colony, at the foot of Kailasagiri. Run by the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority, it covers about 20 acres with a jogging track of about 2 km, and was the first health park in Andhra Pradesh to offer yoga, a gym and a cycling track, according to its Wikipedia entry, which cites VMRDA. It is open from 4:30 AM to 8:30 PM all year. We couldn't find a current entry or gym fee published online in October 2026, so ask at the gate.

The municipal corporation, GVMC, is adding open spaces rather than gyms. In July 2026 UNI reported a ₹21.97 crore plan to develop 50 modern parks, with 47 open spaces identified for the first phase. In October 2026 it reported a ₹1.22 crore sports facility at the Gopalapatnam High School Ground in Ward 92 with a walking track, badminton, volleyball and pickleball courts and box cricket. Neither report mentioned a gym or a fee. We found no published GVMC gym fee.

Chains in Vizag: Gold's Gym, Cult.fit and what we could confirm

People searching for gym fees in Vizag often ask about national chains because chains publish prices. When we checked, Gold's Gym India's locator listed three Andhra Pradesh branches, in Vijayawada, Guntur and Rajahmundry, and none in Visakhapatnam. A local gym with “Gold” in its name is not necessarily part of the chain. The Rajahmundry branch, the nearest to Vizag, showed an annual membership subtotal of ₹25,271, or about ₹2,106 a month, without stating the enrolment fee or GST.

We could not confirm a Cult.fit centre in Visakhapatnam from Cult's public pages in October 2026, and we found no published Vizag prices for other national chains. If a chain opens or lists a branch in the city, its app or website will show the current price at checkout, and that is the figure to compare with a local gym's quote.
