Gym Fees in Kanpur (2026): Gold's Gym Mall Road and Moti Jheel Prices, FITPASS and What a Year Costs

Gold gym Kanpur fees per month, branch by branch

Gold's Gym is the only chain that appears in Google's suggestions for gym fees in Kanpur, and it is also the only one we found that publishes a Kanpur price. Its gym locator lists two Kanpur branches, Mall Road and Moti Jheel, and each branch page shows one annual plan with a struck-through 'original' price, an offer price, and the enrolment fee and GST added on. These were the figures on goldsgym.in in October 2026:

Ignore the struck-through prices: the number that matters is the total you pay. On that basis, Moti Jheel costs ₹2,509 more a year than Mall Road. What the extra buys, as far as the pages say, is Sunday opening, since Mall Road lists only Monday to Saturday. Neither page lists a monthly or quarterly plan, so ask the branch whether one exists before committing to twelve months.

Location matters as much as price in Kanpur. The Moti Jheel branch is on the first floor of Moti Jheel Metro Station, on the Orange Line corridor from IIT Kanpur to Motijheel that opened on 28 December 2021. If you live or work along that corridor, you can reach the gym without driving, which is a real advantage on a 40 °C afternoon in May. The Mall Road branch is in the Westcott Building on Mall Road, in the city centre.

Gym fees in Kanpur with price: what else is on record

Beyond Gold's, very little is published. Kanpur's neighbourhood gyms set prices at the counter, and we found no reliable survey of what they charge, so this guide doesn't quote one. What we can show is where the gyms are. FITPASS's Kanpur gym list, checked in October 2026, included partners in Kidwai Nagar, Govind Nagar, Saket Nagar, Civil Lines, Barra, Pandu Nagar, Juhi, Rai Purwa and Cooperganj, with five of the 18 gyms shown in Govind Nagar alone. One Kidwai Nagar partner on the list is a ladies-only fitness centre, worth knowing if that's what you're looking for.

The list is longer than the 18 shown, so search the app for your own colony. The pattern is still clear: south Kanpur, around Govind Nagar, Kidwai Nagar and Saket Nagar, has the most pass gyms, while there was none on the first page for Kalyanpur, Swaroop Nagar or the IIT side of the city. If you live there, a pass may mean a drive every time.

The pages also show how much facilities vary. Active Strength Gym in Kidwai Nagar lists air conditioning, lockers, parking, a water cooler and Wi-Fi, but shows Sunday sessions as unavailable to FITPASS members. Before you compare any two Kanpur gyms on price, compare them on these basics: an un-air-conditioned gym is a hard place to train between April and June.

FITPASS against Gold's: the Kanpur arithmetic

FITPASS's Kanpur page showed two plans in October 2026: FITPASS 180 at ₹1,750 a month and FITPASS 360, which adds nutritionist support, at ₹2,083 a month. In Kanpur, unlike some cities, the basic pass is slightly cheaper than either Gold's branch even if you keep it for a full year, and it carries no twelve-month commitment.

The table doesn't settle the choice on its own. A pass is only useful if there's a partner gym you like close to home; it doesn't help if the nearest one is on the far side of the city at rush hour. Partner gyms also set their own session rules, and some don't take pass holders on Sundays. Gold's, by contrast, is one known floor with set hours. If you'll train at one place, five or six days a week, near Mall Road or the metro, the annual plan is simple. If your week moves around the city, the pass is cheaper and more flexible.

Green Park and free options in Kanpur

Kanpur's best-known sports ground, Green Park in Civil Lines, is owned by the Uttar Pradesh government through its sports department and operated for cricket by the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, with a capacity of about 32,000. We found no published public gym membership or fee there, or at any other state sports facility in Kanpur, when we checked in October 2026. If you're interested, ask at the facility office; don't rely on fees quoted on listings sites.

We also found no official list of free outdoor gym equipment in Kanpur's parks from the municipal corporation or the development authority. If your local park has open-air machines, use them for mobility, bodyweight circuits and light work; they can't be made heavier, so they won't carry your strength far. Many newer housing societies have a clubhouse gym included in maintenance, which is worth checking before paying anyone.

Kanpur's summer and the case for paying monthly first

Kanpur's mean daily maximum climbs from 37.0 °C in April to 40.3 °C in May and 39.2 °C in June, and the mean January minimum is 8.0 °C, according to India Meteorological Department normals for 1991–2020 at the city's airport. That heat is when many new members stop going. An annual Gold's plan at ₹22,245 used only from October to March costs about ₹3,700 for each month you trained, double what the same plan costs if you stay all year.

So if this is your first serious attempt at a gym routine, start on something you can stop: a month-to-month pass, or a short plan if your local gym offers one. Once you've trained through one Kanpur summer, the annual price becomes the bargain it looks like. GST and enrolment on a Kanpur gym bill

• GST is 5%. The GST Council cut the rate for gyms and fitness centres from 18% with input tax credit to 5% without it from 22 September 2025, PTI reported. Gold's Kanpur bills show 5%, charged on the membership plus the enrolment fee: Moti Jheel's ₹1,179 is 5% of ₹23,575.
• Enrolment is ₹1,000 at both Kanpur Gold's branches. magicpin's national 2026 guide puts a typical one-time registration fee at ₹500–2,000. Ask whether it's waived during an offer.
