Average gym fees in Pune per month
Gym fees in Pune sit below Mumbai's and Bengaluru's, according to the one city-by-city survey we could find. magicpin, a deals platform, published monthly ranges for five cities as of April 2026, and Pune was the cheapest of the five at every tier. These are estimates across many gyms, not a price any one gym has promised, so treat them as a yardstick for the quote you're given.
| Type of gym | Per month in Pune | Same tier in Mumbai, for comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Budget neighbourhood gym | ₹600–1,200 | ₹1,000–1,800 |
| Mid-range gym | ₹1,500–2,800 | ₹2,500–4,000 |
| Premium gym or club | ₹3,000–5,500 | ₹4,500–9,000 |
In practice, the budget band is the small neighbourhood gym, often one floor with a modest weight stack and a monthly fee, the kind you'll find in older areas such as Kothrud, Hadapsar or the peths as well as in the newer suburbs. The mid-range band usually means air conditioning, more cardio machines and group classes. Premium means a club with a pool, studios or a spa. magicpin doesn't break its figures down by neighbourhood, so don't assume a gym in Baner or Kharadi must cost more than one in Sadashiv Peth: compare the actual quotes.
Free and civic options: PMC gardens, PCMC gyms and what the city publishes
Pune's civic bodies run fitness facilities, but neither the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) nor the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) publishes a gym member fee that we could find in October 2026. Here is what is on record:
- Open gyms in PMC gardens. PMC has developed more than 200 gardens across the city, and some have outdoor gym equipment. In Wanawadi, Vitthalrao Shivarkar Udyan has open-air gyms, with separate sections for men and women and an acupressure walkway, Pune Pulse reported in December 2025. There's no membership to buy for equipment like this.
- PCMC gyms run by private operators. PCMC handed 50 of its gymnasiums to private operators on 11-month contracts at a service fee of ₹2,000 a month paid to the corporation, and extended 36 of them, Punekar News reported in December 2020. The report doesn't say what members pay, and that fee is set by each operator.
- PMC pools show how civic fees work. PMC's sanctioned pool fees are ₹20 a day, up to ₹350 a month and ₹3,200 a year, but residents complained in March 2026 that some contractors were charging ₹500–1,000 for a monthly pass, the Free Press Journal reported. If you join any civic or contractor-run gym, ask to see the sanctioned rate card.
Open-air equipment is fine for bodyweight work, mobility and light circuits. It won't take you far with strength: there are no barbells, and the machines can't be loaded heavier. For that you need a gym, or a plan that makes the most of a little kit at home.
Society and office gyms in Hinjewadi, Wakad, Baner and Kharadi
Before paying a Pune gym, check what you already have access to. Many newer housing societies in areas such as Wakad, Baner, Balewadi, Pimple Saudagar and Hadapsar have a clubhouse gym, often covered by your maintenance rather than a separate fee, and some IT campuses in Hinjewadi, Kharadi and Magarpatta have a gym for employees. Ask your society office or HR. The kit is often basic, a few machines and dumbbells, but it costs you nothing extra and saves a drive at the busiest hour of the day.
The usual gap in a society or office gym is guidance, not equipment. That's the problem Personal Gym Training in Pune is built for: a coach on live video who plans around exactly what's on the floor.
Gold's Gym fees in Pune
Gold's Gym is the chain people search for most by name in Pune, and it is one of the few that publishes a branch price online. Its Bibwewadi page listed one plan when we checked on 27 October 2026:
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Annual membership (base) | ₹19,000 |
| Enrolment fee | ₹1,000 |
| GST at 5% | ₹1,000 |
| Total for 12 months | ₹21,000 (about ₹1,750 a month) |
The branch is open 5:30 AM to 10:30 PM Monday to Saturday and closed on Sunday, which matters if Sunday morning is your only free slot. We couldn't find published prices for other Pune branches: the Kalyani Nagar page returned an error and Gold's Hadapsar promotion page shows a sign-up form, not a price. magicpin's 2026 Gold's Gym guide says annual billing cuts the effective monthly rate by 15–20% against paying monthly, but its city figures cover Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru, not Pune.
Gym pass in Pune: FITPASS and multi-gym plans
A multi-gym pass suits Pune's split geography: you can lift near the office in Hinjewadi on weekdays and near home in Kothrud at the weekend. FITPASS's Pune page lists partner gyms by area, from Agarkar Nagar to Akurdi, and showed two plans when we checked: FITPASS 180 at ₹1,750 a month and FITPASS 360 at ₹2,083 a month. The page doesn't say how many Pune gyms take the pass, so check that the ones near your home and office are partners before you pay.
Cult operates gyms in Pune too, but its city page wouldn't open for us and Cult doesn't show Pune prices outside its app. Compare a cultpass in the app with the FITPASS figures above, and check which centres each includes.
Monthly or annual in Pune: doing the maths
The lowest monthly figure in Pune almost always comes from the longest plan. The table uses the published Gold's Gym price and the middle of magicpin's mid-range band to show what the choice really costs:
| How you pay | Cost for 12 months | Effective cost a month |
|---|---|---|
| Gold's Gym Bibwewadi, annual plan, used all year | ₹21,000 | ₹1,750 |
| The same plan, but you stop after 4 months | ₹21,000 | ₹5,250 for the months you used |
| Mid-range gym at ₹2,000 a month, paid monthly | ₹24,000 | ₹2,000 |
| Budget gym at ₹1,000 a month, paid monthly | ₹12,000 | ₹1,000 |
One comparison is worth spelling out. FITPASS 180 at ₹1,750 a month is exactly what Gold's Bibwewadi works out to on its annual plan, ₹21,000 over a year. The difference is commitment: the Gold's figure assumes you pay ₹21,000 up front for one branch, while the pass spreads the cost and lets you use partner gyms near both home and office. If your week splits between Hinjewadi and Kothrud, or between a Kharadi office and a Hadapsar flat, a pass at the same monthly cost can be the better buy. If you'll only ever train at one gym near home, the single-branch plan or a budget gym at ₹600–1,200 a month is simpler.
Pune has two seasons that break gym habits: the monsoon from June to September, when the ride to the gym gets wet and slow, and the trek-heavy weekends that follow it. If you've never kept a gym habit for six months, pay monthly or quarterly first and switch to an annual plan once the routine has survived a monsoon.
Joining fees, GST and freezes in Pune gyms
- GST is 5%. The GST Council cut the rate on gyms, health clubs and fitness centres from 18% to 5%, without input tax credit, from 22 September 2025, PTI reported. Gold's Bibwewadi checkout already adds 5%. If a Pune gym quotes 18%, ask why.
- Joining fees. magicpin says most gyms charge a one-time registration fee of ₹500–2,000. Gold's Bibwewadi charges ₹1,000. Ask whether it's waived on a longer plan; many gyms do that during offers.
- Freezes. Ask in writing how many days you can pause and how much notice the gym needs. A two-week project trip or a family wedding shouldn't cost you two weeks of fees.
- Extras. Lockers, towels and group classes are sometimes charged separately. Personal training always is; our guide to personal trainer fees in Pune covers what trainers charge.
What to check before you pay a Pune gym
- 1
Visit at the hour you'll train
A gym that's quiet at 11 AM can be packed at 7 PM, when everyone from the Hinjewadi and Kharadi offices arrives at once.
- 2
Time the trip on a weekday
A gym that looks close on the map can take far longer in evening traffic, especially near the Hinjewadi and Kharadi IT parks. One you can walk to is the one you'll keep using.
- 3
Check the opening days
Some Pune branches, including Gold's Bibwewadi, close on Sundays. Make sure the hours fit your week.
- 4
Ask for the full price in writing
Base fee, joining fee, GST and any extras, added up, before you pay anything.
- 5
Read the transfer and refund terms
If you might move from Wakad to Viman Nagar for a new job, ask whether you can shift branches or pass the membership on.
