Amritsar gym membership costs, cheapest to dearest
Gym fees in Amritsar have an unusually wide spread. At one end is a public open-air gym in a heritage garden; at the other, premium clubs charging more than ₹5,000 a month. Most of the city’s gyms sit near the bottom of that range. The table collects every price we could verify, from the cheapest option to the dearest, with a monthly figure for each. Prices were checked in October 2026.
| Option | Price as published | Per month | Who says so |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open-air gym in Gol Bagh | Installed in 2017; no fee reported | No fee reported | The Tribune |
| Affordable neighbourhood gyms | Around ₹1,000–2,500 a month | ₹1,000–2,500 | FITPASS guide, May 2026 (estimate) |
| FITPASS multi-gym subscription | ₹1,750 or ₹2,083 a month, by plan | ₹1,750–2,083 | FITPASS plan price |
| What residents report paying | Average ₹2,833; answers from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 | ₹2,833 | Numbeo survey, 21 contributors |
| Premium clubs | More than ₹5,000 a month | ₹5,000+ | FITPASS guide (estimate) |
| Gold’s Gym, Adventure Mall, Mall Road | No usable price online; phone the branch | Not published | Branch page (see below) |
If you want an ordinary weights-and-cardio gym near home in Ranjit Avenue, Green Avenue or off GT Road, budget ₹1,000–2,500 a month and expect to bargain. If you want air-conditioned floors, steam, classes and a mall car park, you’re in the ₹5,000-plus bracket. For a branded chain, phone the branch: the one Gold’s Gym in the city doesn’t show a usable price online.
Gold’s Gym on Mall Road, Amritsar: why we don’t quote its price
Gold’s Gym Amritsar The Mall is at Adventure Mall, 35-B Mall Road. Its branch page does show an annual figure, but it isn’t one you can rely on. The same yearly amount, broken down into the same membership, enrolment and GST lines, appears on several other Gold’s Gym branch pages in cities far from Punjab. Identical numbers across unrelated branches point to a website placeholder, not a price set for Amritsar, so we have left it out.
The page does list hours, Monday to Saturday from 6 AM to 10 PM, and gives no Sunday hours. For the real price, phone or visit the branch and ask for the yearly and monthly figures with GST and enrolment written out separately. Until then, the nearest Gold’s Gym branches that publish a believable card are in other cities nearby, and they give you a sense of what the brand charges in this part of Punjab.
| Line on the card | Jalandhar, Model Town | Kapurthala, Gurbax Complex |
|---|---|---|
| Annual membership | ₹24,000 | ₹18,000 |
| Enrolment fee | ₹1,000 | ₹1,000 |
| GST at 5% | ₹1,250 | ₹950 |
| Total for the year | ₹26,250 | ₹19,950 |
| Works out to | about ₹2,190 a month | about ₹1,660 a month |
| Listed hours | Monday to Saturday 6 AM to 10 PM; Sunday 8 AM to 2 PM | Monday to Saturday 6 AM to 10 PM |
These are not Amritsar prices, and a mall location may well charge more. They are useful when the Mall Road desk gives you a figure: if it is several times the Jalandhar card, ask what the extra pays for. Both cards also show how GST is worked out on a Punjab gym bill. The 5% is charged on the enrolment fee as well as the membership: Jalandhar’s ₹1,250 is 5% of ₹25,000, and Kapurthala’s ₹950 is 5% of ₹19,000. Expect the same arithmetic in Amritsar.
What Numbeo and FITPASS say about everyday gyms in Amritsar
For the neighbourhood gyms that don’t publish prices, two estimates help. FITPASS, the multi-gym subscription company, says in its guide to the best gyms in Amritsar, last updated on 28 May 2026, that affordable gyms charge around ₹1,000–2,500 a month and premium clubs can cost more than ₹5,000. It names Spartan Strength Gym on Majitha Road for affordable rates and separate timings for women, without giving a figure.
Numbeo’s crowd-sourced cost-of-living page for Amritsar, updated on 26 October 2026, puts a monthly fitness club membership at an average of ₹2,833, with answers from ₹1,000 to ₹5,000, from 21 contributors over 18 months. That average sits above FITPASS’s affordable band, which makes sense: anyone who joined a club with a pool or classes pulls it up. A sensible reading is that ₹1,500–2,500 buys a decent gym in most of Amritsar, and anything above ₹3,000 should come with something you’ll actually use.
FITPASS itself sells access to several partner gyms in the city, advertised in October 2026 at ₹1,750 a month for its 180 plan and ₹2,083 a month for its 360 plan. That suits someone who splits the week between home in the walled city and an office near the bus stand, as long as a partner gym is close to both.
Gol Bagh and Amritsar’s public fitness spaces
Amritsar’s best-known public workout spot is Gol Bagh, the old garden in the city centre. According to The Tribune, it was redeveloped in 2017 under the Smart City and HRIDAY heritage schemes, with a children’s park, a musical fountain and an open-air gym. We found no fee for the open-air gym in any report.
In August 2020, the city announced a ₹5.35 crore Smart City plan to rebuild Gol Bagh’s indoor badminton complex and swimming pool and add new indoor and outdoor gyms, jogging tracks, climbing walls, a cricket net and a synthetic track, due in nine months with five years of maintenance by the contractor. By June 2023, The Tribune was reporting overgrown weeds, standing water and dysfunctional fountains and lights in the garden. We couldn’t confirm whether the new gyms opened, or at what fee, so check the equipment yourself before planning a routine around it.
Cult and other chains in Amritsar
cult.fit lists Amritsar among the cities where it runs gyms. We couldn’t open its Amritsar centre page in October 2026, so we can’t give you a verified local price, and we won’t guess one. If you’re considering it, ask at the centre for the one-month, six-month and twelve-month price with GST shown separately, and whether the pass works in other cities, which matters if you travel to Ludhiana or Chandigarh for work.
A year’s gym bill in Amritsar, worked out
| Type of gym | Monthly figure used | Twelve months |
|---|---|---|
| Open-air gym, Gol Bagh | No fee reported | ₹0 |
| Neighbourhood gym at the low end | ₹1,000 | ₹12,000 |
| Neighbourhood gym at the high end | ₹2,500 | ₹30,000 |
| Numbeo average | ₹2,833 | about ₹34,000 |
| Gold’s Gym Jalandhar Model Town (another city, for comparison) | Annual card | ₹26,250 |
Gym services have been taxed at 5% GST since 22 September 2025, down from 18%, The Tribune reported, so a ₹2,000 monthly fee should carry ₹100 of tax if the gym bills it. Ask whether the price you’re quoted already includes it. A yearly plan usually cuts the monthly rate, but weddings, gurpurab weeks and family trips can wipe out several weeks, so a plan you can pause is often worth more than a bigger discount.
Matching the fee to your week in Amritsar
- You train four or five days a week and only lift. A neighbourhood gym at ₹1,000–2,500 a month has what you need. Pay more only for better equipment or a shorter drive.
- You train twice a week and travel often. A yearly card, whether ₹12,000 at a basic gym or ₹26,250 at a branded gym like Gold’s Gym in Jalandhar, will cost you a lot per visit. A monthly plan or FITPASS’s ₹1,750–2,083 subscription is easier to stop.
- You want a pool, steam and classes. Expect FITPASS’s premium band of more than ₹5,000 a month, and visit at your usual hour before you sign.
- You won’t go to a gym at all. A mat, a pair of dumbbells and a plan at home cost less than a year anywhere on this list. Gol Bagh’s open-air gym adds free outdoor work if the machines are in good order.
Five questions at an Amritsar gym counter
- 1
What is the total with GST and enrolment?
Ask for the monthly, half-yearly and yearly figure written out, as the Gold’s Gym card does.
- 2
Can I try it at my hour?
Train once at the time you’ll really come. A quiet afternoon tells you nothing about 7 PM.
- 3
How do pauses work?
Ask how many days you can freeze and how to request it, before weddings and travel interrupt you.
- 4
Who coaches on the floor?
Find out whether basic guidance is free and what a personal trainer costs. Our guide to personal trainer fees in Amritsar lists local rates.
- 5
Is the gym open on Sundays?
Several Punjab branch pages show short or no Sunday hours. If Sunday is your free morning, check.

Personal Home Training in Amritsar needs a mat and some floor space, and Group Classes in Amritsar cost ₹4,040 for 12 sessions. Sessions run between 6 AM and 8 PM every day.
