Gym fees in Chandigarh by type of gym

Gym access and personal coaching are separate parts of the budget.
Gym access and personal coaching are separate parts of the budget.

Gym fees in Chandigarh are unusually easy to compare, because the Chandigarh Administration publishes its own sports complex fees and two of the big chains publish theirs. The table turns each option into a monthly figure. Prices were checked on 27 October 2026; where only an estimate exists, the table says so.

Monthly gym costs in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula by type (checked October 2026)

For a crowd-sourced cross-check, Numbeo's cost-of-living page for Chandigarh (updated 26 October 2026) put a monthly fitness club membership at about ₹2,490, with answers ranging from ₹700 to ₹7,000. That's a survey of what visitors report, not a price list, but it sits where the published figures above suggest.

Chandigarh Administration sports complexes: the published fee list

Chandigarh is one of the few Indian cities where a government body publishes a gym fee you can check online. The UT Sports Department's membership fee page lists charges for its complexes, including those in Sectors 7, 23, 34, 42, 43 and 46, Sarangpur and the Lake Sports Complex. The general gym is at the Lake Sports Complex, sold in six-month blocks by time slot:

Time slotFee for 6 monthsGST shownTotalPer month
9 AM to 12 PM and 3 PM to 6 PM₹6,755₹1,215₹7,970about ₹1,330
Early morning and evening (6 AM and 6 PM slots)₹9,652₹1,738₹11,390about ₹1,900
Lake Sports Complex gym fees, Chandigarh (UT Sports Department, checked 27 October 2026)

Three details are worth knowing. The peak slots cost about 43% more than the daytime ones, so if you work shifts or are retired, the 9 AM to 12 PM window is the cheapest supervised gym in the city. The GST on the published table is 18%, the old rate; gym services have carried 5% since 22 September 2025, so ask at the counter which rate you'll actually pay. And the page labels the costlier slot “6 AM to 9 PM & 6 PM to 9 PM”, which reads as 6–9 AM and 6–9 PM; confirm the hours when you enrol.

Other complexes don't list a general gym, but some list strength sports. Weightlifting at the Sector 42 complex and at Sarangpur costs ₹1,000 a month for recreational players, ₹600 a year for registered players and ₹300 a year for students. Those halls exist for coaching, so ask whether you can use them for general training before paying.

Open air gyms in Chandigarh and Mohali

Search for an outdoor or open air gym in Chandigarh and you'll find them in sector parks, free to use. In July 2025, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh issued a tender worth more than ₹23 lakh to install open-air gyms in Sectors 34, 35 and 43, paid for from a councillor's ward development fund. In Mohali, the Municipal Corporation's finance committee approved open-air gyms for all 50 wards in December 2018: 54 parks in all, including six that already had one, at about ₹5.5 crore.

Open-air machines are good for moving more and light strength work, but you can't add weight as you get stronger. Pair one with personal home training in Chandigarh on the days you need real progression, or use our guide to running tracks in Chandigarh for the free outdoor loops.

Gym fees in Mohali, Kharar and the GMADA complexes

Gym fees in Mohali split between the new towers, which mostly have a clubhouse gym paid for through maintenance, and commercial gyms along the main roads. The one Gold's Gym in the Tricity when we checked was in Kharar, on Landran Road in Sector 115. Its page itemises the annual membership:

ItemAmount
Annual membership₹35,000
Enrolment fee₹1,000
GST at 5%₹1,800
Total for 12 months₹37,800 (about ₹3,150 a month)
Gold's Gym Kharar Landra annual membership (checked 27 October 2026)

That's the answer to “gold gym mohali fees”, and also to “gold gym chandigarh fees”: Gold's Gym's branch list showed no gym inside Chandigarh itself or in Panchkula. The page lists only the annual plan, so ask the branch if you want a shorter one. Mohali's development authority, GMADA, also runs sports complexes in the phases, but we couldn't find a published GMADA gym fee, so ask at the complex.

Cult in Chandigarh and Panchkula: what the pass costs

Cult's Sector 26 centre page sells one pass covering all its centres and gyms in the Chandigarh Tricity, priced by length:

Pass lengthPrice shownPer monthPause days
1 month₹7,344₹7,344None listed
3 months₹11,750₹3,9175
6 months₹15,850₹2,64215
12 months₹19,450₹1,62130
24 months₹32,090₹1,33760
Cult pass prices on the Sector 26, Chandigarh centre page (checked 27 October 2026)

Some of the longer plans showed an extra ₹500 or ₹2,000 discount already applied, and a 12-month all-India version cost ₹29,490. The page didn't show tax, so check the amount at checkout.

Neighbourhood gyms in the sectors: estimates, not price lists

Most gyms in the market blocks of Sectors 8, 9, 22, 35 and 44, and along the Mohali phases, don't publish prices. magicpin's beginners' guide to Chandigarh gyms (updated October 2026) says monthly memberships start at around ₹1,200 and that some gyms offer a trial week for about ₹500. magicpin is a deals platform, so treat that as a secondary estimate. A trial week is worth paying for: it tells you how crowded the gym is at 7 PM before you commit to a year.

If your week is split between home in Panchkula and an office in Mohali's IT City, a multi-gym pass is the other option: one subscription for a network of partner gyms. Cult's Tricity pass works the same way across its own centres. A pass only pays off if gyms you'd actually use, near home and near work, are on its list; if you'll only ever go to one gym, a membership there is usually cheaper.

Six months, a year or one month at a time?

Chandigarh's own sports department sells gym time in six-month blocks, which is a sensible length for a city with two hard seasons: fog in December and January, heat in May and June. Using the published prices above:

  • Cult month by month costs ₹7,344 a month, so six months that way would be ₹44,064. The 6-month pass is ₹15,850.
  • Cult for a year is ₹19,450, about ₹1,621 a month, but only if you keep going. Stop after four months and you've effectively paid about ₹4,860 a month.
  • Lake Sports Complex for six months is ₹7,970 off-peak, only ₹626 more than a single month of Cult, if the daytime slot fits your life.
  • Gold's Kharar for a year is ₹37,800 upfront, with no shorter plan listed.

A simple rule: buy the shortest plan you're sure you'll finish, then renew for longer. If you've never kept a gym habit past the first month, start with a trial week or three months.

GST, enrolment fees and pauses in the Tricity

  • GST is 5% on gym services. The GST Council cut the rate from 18% to 5%, without input tax credit, from 22 September 2025, PTI reported. Gold's Kharar adds 5%. The Lake Sports Complex table still shows 18%, so ask.
  • Enrolment fees. Gold's adds ₹1,000 to the annual price. Ask every gym whether a joining fee applies and whether it's waived on a longer plan.
  • Pauses. Cult's passes include 5 to 60 pause days depending on length. Useful for a wedding season or a trip home; Gold's page doesn't state a freeze policy, so get it in writing.
  • What's included. Check whether lockers, towels, steam or classes cost extra, and whether the quoted price already includes GST.

Before you pay a Tricity gym: five questions

Check what is included, the terms and the full cost before you commit.
Check what is included, the terms and the full cost before you commit.
  1. 1

Visit at your real training hour

A Sector 35 gym that's empty at noon can have a queue for the squat rack at 7 PM. Go on a weekday at the time you'll train.

  2. 2

    Check the heating and cooling

Ask how the gym feels on a January morning and a June afternoon. A gym without decent fans or AC in summer is one you'll skip.

  3. 3

    Count the free weights

Dumbbells up to about 20 kg, an adjustable bench and a rack or cable station cover months of progress. Clubhouse gyms in Mohali towers often stop short.

  4. 4

Ask what floor help is included

General guidance is usually in the fee; one-to-one training is extra. Our guide to personal trainer fees in Chandigarh covers what that costs.

  5. 5

Read the transfer and refund terms

If you move from Sector 44 to Zirakpur, can the membership move with you? Get the answer in writing.

For how these prices compare with other cities, read our national guide to gym membership fees in India. What coaching costs on top of a gym is on our pricing page. If you already pay for a gym, personal gym training in Chandigarh puts a coach on video at that gym; if friends in Mohali and Panchkula want to train together, group classes in Chandigarh cost ₹499 a person.
