Gym Fees in Ranchi (2026): Gold's Gym Sail City, Anytime Fitness, Hotwar's Pay-and-Play Rates and the Average

Ranchi gym fees at a glance, October 2026

Gym fees in Ranchi are thinly published. Of the chains with clubs in the city, only Gold's Gym prints a price online, and the independent gyms in Lalpur, Harmu, Kanke Road or Doranda generally quote at the counter. What Ranchi does have, unusually, is a published fee card for the state's Mega Sports Complex at Hotwar. The table pulls every figure we could verify into one place.

The cheapest rows aren't gyms. The Hotwar scheme sells coached sports sessions, not a weights floor, and it's aimed at players. Among actual gyms, the published Ranchi figures cluster close together: Numbeo's ₹2,100 average, FITPASS at ₹1,750–2,083 and Gold's Gym at about ₹2,333 a month on an annual plan.

Gold's Gym fees in Ranchi: the one chain price on record

Gold's Gym's only Ranchi branch, Sail City, is on the third floor of Kashish Mall inside the Sail City campus at New Pundag, Dhurwa. Its branch page lists an annual membership at ₹25,667, plus a ₹1,000 enrolment fee and ₹1,333 GST at 5%, for a total of ₹28,000. That's about ₹2,333 a month if you pay for the year upfront. The page showed no monthly or quarterly plan in October 2026.

Sail City's hours are long: 5 AM to 11:30 PM, seven days a week. The page lists a dedicated weight-training zone, cardio, a group fitness studio with HIIT, Zumba, yoga, CrossFit and aerobics classes, diet and nutrition consultations, certified personal trainers, steam rooms, showers, air-conditioning and parking. For people living in Dhurwa, Hatia or the HEC side of the city, it's the only chain with a printed price nearby; from Bariatu or Kanke Road it's a long drive across town, which is worth weighing before you pay for a year.

Anytime Fitness and Cult in Ranchi: clubs without a price list

Anytime Fitness has three Ranchi pages on its India site. None shows a membership price; each sends you to an enquiry form. Two clubs were listed as open to members in October 2026, and a third, in Lalpur, was still in pre-sale.

If you're offered a founding-member rate at Lalpur, get the price, the plan length and what happens to the rate on renewal in writing. Cult's Ranchi gym is also on Circular Road in Lalpur, on the third floor of H Square above Studio Pepperfry. Its page mentions free demo classes but no membership price, so try a session before you discuss money.

FITPASS in Ranchi: a pass instead of one gym

FITPASS's Ranchi page lists partner gyms and fitness centres in Adarsh Nagar, Ahirtoli, Argora, Ashok Nagar, Bahu Bazaar, Bara Ghagra and other localities, and shows two passes: FITPASS 180 at ₹1,750 a month and FITPASS 360 at ₹2,083 a month (checked October 2026). The page doesn't name each gym's own fee or explain what separates the two tiers, so check before buying. A pass suits someone whose week moves between, say, a home in Argora and an office near Main Road; if you train at one place every day, a single gym's annual plan is usually as cheap.

Hotwar's pay-and-play scheme: Ranchi's state-run sports fees

The Mega Sports Complex at Hotwar, owned by the Government of Jharkhand, hosted the 2011 National Games and includes the Birsa Munda Athletics Stadium, an aquatic stadium, indoor stadiums, a velodrome and a shooting range. The Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS), a joint initiative of Central Coalfields Limited and the state government, runs a pay-and-play scheme there with coached sessions in 11 sports. Registration is ₹50, and the notice on the state sports department's site lists these fees:

• Free entry for some. School students up to Class 10 with a letter from their headmaster, and players who have competed internationally or nationally or won state or national medals, are exempt from registration and membership fees.
• Athletics trial. The first 15 days of athletics are free, once only.
• Timings. Athletics runs 6:30–8:30 AM and 4–6 PM and is closed on Sunday; most other sports are closed on Monday. Swimming runs in 45-minute batches, and the 4:30–5:15 PM evening batch is for women only.
• Paperwork. Fees are paid by demand draft in favour of JSSPS. You need two passport photos, identity proof, proof of date of birth and a certificate that you have no contagious disease.
• It's a players' scheme. The rules say there will be progress trials every three months and that only promising players will continue the training.

Average gym fees in Ranchi: Numbeo's figure in context

For an average gym fee in Ranchi, Numbeo's crowd-sourced cost-of-living page gives ₹2,100 a month for a fitness club membership, with answers from ₹800 to ₹7,500. It was updated on 26 October 2026, and Numbeo says Ranchi had 102 entries from 9 contributors in the past 12 months across everything it tracks, from groceries to rent. That's a very small group of people, so the average can move a lot with one new answer.

Still, it lines up with what's published. Gold's Gym Sail City's ₹2,333 a month on an annual plan is just above the average, and FITPASS's ₹1,750–2,083 just below it. The top of Numbeo's range, ₹7,500, is more than three times any published Ranchi price we found; someone may have reported a premium club's monthly rate or a package with coaching. If you're quoted anything close to that, ask exactly what's included.

Gyms in Ranchi with fees for women and men

People in Ranchi search separately for gym fees for women and for men. None of the published Ranchi prices we found are different for women and men: Gold's Gym Sail City shows one annual price, and the JSSPS fee card is the same for everyone. The only women-only slot in any published Ranchi schedule is the Hotwar pool's 4:30–5:15 PM evening batch. If you want a women-only batch at a private gym, ask the gym directly; we couldn't verify any from published pages.

Before you pay a Ranchi gym

• Ask whether GST is inside the quote. Gym and health club services have carried 5% GST since 22 September 2025, down from 18%, PTI reported. Gold's Gym Sail City adds ₹1,333 on top of the annual fee and enrolment.
• Ask for the enrolment fee separately. Gold's charges ₹1,000. Independent gyms may call it an admission fee.
• Match the gym to your route. Ranchi's published chain options are spread from Dhurwa to Bariatu, Hindpiri and Lalpur. A gym on the way to work gets used; one across town often doesn't.
• Try the hour you'll train. Evening crowds after office hours tell you more than a quiet afternoon tour.
• Ask about freezes. Find out in writing whether you can pause a membership for travel or exams, and for how long.
