Average gym fees in Bhopal, from the cheapest to the chain
Bhopal is one of the few Indian cities where the state government publishes a gym fee, and that sets a useful floor for everything else. Average gym fees in Bhopal, on Numbeo's crowd-sourced data updated 26 October 2026, are about ₹1,528 a month, with entries from about ₹670 to ₹3,000. That figure comes from 231 entries by 19 contributors over the past year, so it's a guide rather than a quote. Here is how the published options line up, checked on 28 October 2026:
| Where | Published fee | About a month | Published by |
|---|---|---|---|
| State Pay & Play gym, current rate | ₹1,000 | ₹1,000 | MP sports directorate |
| State Pay & Play gym, new rate | ₹1,200 | ₹1,200 | MP sports directorate |
| Bhopal city average, any gym | ₹670–3,000 range | ₹1,528 | Numbeo (secondary) |
| FITPASS 180 multi-gym pass | ₹1,750 a month | ₹1,750 | FITPASS |
| Gold's Gym Virasha STC, annual | ₹34,704 a year | About ₹2,890 | Gold's Gym India |
The spread is wide: the chain gym costs nearly three times the government gym. Neither end is automatically the right one. What matters is which one you'll walk into four times a week, and whether its equipment and hours fit how you want to train.
The Pay & Play gym: Bhopal's government option
Madhya Pradesh's Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare runs a Pay & Play scheme that lets the public train at its facilities for a fee. Its page lists 24 activities, and the gym fee is the same for under-18s and adults: ₹1,000 at the current rate and ₹1,200 at the new rate. The page doesn't print a billing period, but its notes say that paying for 5 or 11 months at registration gets you a 6- or 12-month card, which points to a monthly fee. Registration is through the directorate's DSYW Player Registration app.
| Activity | Current rate | New rate |
|---|---|---|
| Gym | ₹1,000 | ₹1,200 |
| Weightlifting | ₹500 | ₹600 |
| Yoga | ₹700 | ₹800 |
| Aerobics | ₹400 | ₹500 |
| Walking | ₹200 | ₹200 |
| Athletics | ₹800 | ₹1,000 |
- Pay ahead to get a month free. Paying 11 months at the ₹1,200 rate, ₹13,200, buys a 12-month card. At the ₹1,000 rate it's ₹11,000 for the year.
- Ask which rate you'll pay. The page says a new member can move to the regular category only six months after registering, which suggests the higher new rate applies at first.
- Bring your own kit. The rules make bringing your own sports equipment and kit mandatory.
- Keep to your slot. Staying on campus beyond the set time can end the membership with the fee forfeited, according to the scheme's notes.
Cheaper than the gym: walking, aerobics and yoga on the same card
The same Pay & Play table shows how little some of Bhopal's government fitness options cost. Walking is ₹200 at both rates, aerobics ₹400 rising to ₹500, and weightlifting, a separate line from the gym, ₹500 rising to ₹600 for adults. Someone who mainly wants a safe place to walk and two strength sessions a week could combine the walking card with home workouts for a fraction of a chain membership. If you'd like those home sessions coached, group classes in Bhopal cost ₹499 per person per session, or ₹4,040 for a 4-week plan of 12.
TT Nagar Stadium gym fees and what the complex has
TT Nagar Sports Complex, officially Tatya Tope Nagar Stadium, is owned by the Madhya Pradesh government and operated by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare. It opened in 1962, was renovated in 2013, seats 20,000 and includes an indoor hall and an Olympic-size swimming pool, with sports from football and hockey to judo and wrestling. If you searched for TT Nagar Stadium gym fees, the Pay & Play rates above are the published figures we could find; the stadium has no separate gym price list online.
The complex is also being upgraded. A July 2026 report on a state review meeting described plans for two more entry gates, bringing the total to five, wider approach and internal roads, new fire-safety systems and digital signage, with the aim of making it an international sports hub. No cost or completion date was given. Expect some disruption while work is under way, and ask about it when you register.
Gold gym Bhopal fees: the Virasha STC club
Bhopal's Gold's Gym is on level 5 of Virasha STC, above Barbeque Nation on Bawadiya Kalan Main Road, opposite the Mahindra petrol pump in Rohit Nagar. Gold's lists it as its only Bhopal club. Its branch page publishes one plan, an annual membership, broken down as follows:
| Component | Amount |
|---|---|
| Annual membership | ₹32,051 |
| Enrolment | ₹1,000 |
| GST, 5% | ₹1,653 |
| Total for the year | ₹34,704 |
That's about ₹2,890 a month, near the top of Numbeo's ₹3,000 Bhopal range and almost three times the Pay & Play gym. The club opens 6 AM–10 PM from Monday to Saturday and 8 AM–2 PM on Sunday, according to the page, which is useful if Sunday morning is your long session. It describes trainers and personalised plans but doesn't list facilities, so ask what's included before comparing it with a cheaper gym on equipment alone.
Neighbourhood gyms: Kolar Road, Bhanpur, MP Nagar and Awadhpuri
Most of Bhopal trains at independent gyms that don't publish fees. A browse through FITPASS's Bhopal partners shows how they spread across the city: among its first 18 were Boom Fitness Center on Vidisha Road, The Fitness Headquarters in Professors Colony, Life Fitness Center in Idgah Hills, Flesh Fitness Club near MP Nagar, RK Fitness in Lalghati, three gyms in Bhanpur, Vision Fitness on Kolar Road, The Colosseum Gymnasiums Club on Airport Road, Dangal Gym in Awadhpuri and Rebound Fitness in Ayodhya Nagar. None showed its own monthly fee.
That leaves Numbeo's ₹1,528 average and its ₹670–3,000 range as the yardstick. If a Kolar Road or Awadhpuri gym quotes well above ₹3,000 a month, ask what you get for it: air-conditioning, more racks, classes or a trainer. If it quotes below the ₹1,000 Pay & Play rate, check the equipment and how crowded it is at your hour.
Is FITPASS worth it in Bhopal?
In October 2026 the Bhopal FITPASS page priced its two tiers at ₹1,750 (180) and ₹2,083 (360) per month, with partner areas from Airport Road, Arera Colony and Arera Hills onwards. Over 12 months that's ₹21,000 or ₹24,996, against ₹13,200 for a year of Pay & Play at the new rate and ₹34,704 for Gold's. A pass makes most sense if your week crosses the city, from a New Market office to a home out past Misrod, say, and you want a gym near both. FITPASS doesn't publish a Bhopal gym count, so check the partners near you first.
| Plan | Cost for 12 months | Works out per month |
|---|---|---|
| Pay & Play, 11 months paid at ₹1,000 | ₹11,000 | About ₹917 |
| Pay & Play, 11 months paid at ₹1,200 | ₹13,200 | ₹1,100 |
| Numbeo average × 12 | About ₹18,330 | ₹1,528 |
| FITPASS 180 | ₹21,000 | ₹1,750 |
| Gold's Gym Virasha STC | ₹34,704 | About ₹2,890 |
Gym membership in Bhopal: five checks before you sign
- 1
Ask for the total, not the base
Gold's Bhopal adds ₹1,000 enrolment and 5% GST to a ₹32,051 base. Ask every gym for the figure you'll actually pay.
- 2
Visit in your real slot
Crowding in MP Nagar at 7 PM tells you nothing about 6 AM, and the reverse. Go when you'll actually train and see whether a bench and rack are free.
- 3
Check Sunday hours
Gold's Bhopal closes at 2 PM on Sundays. If your free time is Sunday evening, check before paying.
- 4
Ask about pauses
If you travel for work or family, ask whether the membership can be frozen and for how long, in writing.
- 5
Try before a long plan
Pay for one month first where the gym allows it. By week four you'll know whether the place, the crowd and the timing work for you.
