Gym Fees in Coimbatore (2026): Average Monthly Cost, Cult Race Course and Passes

Average gym fees in Coimbatore: every figure we could check

Coimbatore's gym prices are mostly agreed at the counter, so only a handful of numbers are published. We collected every one we could open in October 2026. They come from three kinds of source: a crowd-sourced cost survey, one chain's own price page and a multi-gym pass.

The average gym fees in Coimbatore therefore sit around ₹1,200 a month at an ordinary neighbourhood gym, with the dearer local gyms around ₹3,000. A big-brand gym costs about the same as an average local one only if you pay for a year upfront; month by month it costs six times as much.

What Numbeo's ₹1,217 means for a Coimbatore gym

Numbeo is a cost-of-living database built from prices that residents and visitors enter themselves. Its Coimbatore page, updated on 26 October 2026, gives a monthly fitness club membership an average of ₹1,216.67 and a range of ₹833.33 to ₹3,000. The city had 564 entries across all items in the past 12 months, from 33 different contributors, which is more than Numbeo has for Madurai or Mysore but still a small sample.

Read the figure as a rough guide to a local, non-chain gym. It doesn't say whether GST is included, whether the gym has air conditioning, or whether the price is a monthly rate or a yearly plan divided by twelve. Nor does it say which gyms were reported, so a ₹3,000 entry could be a larger air-conditioned gym or simply a dearer area.

We couldn't find a single independent Coimbatore gym that publishes its monthly fee online. If you want a real number for your area, visit two or three gyms near home at the time you'd actually train, and ask each for a written quote for one month, three months and a year.

Cult Race Course Road: Coimbatore's one published chain price list

Cult's centre on the first floor of Globus Arcade, Race Course Road, is the only branch of a national gym chain in Coimbatore we found with a full public price list. Its page sells cultpass ELITE, which covers every Cult group class and every ELITE and PRO gym in the city. Prices on 28 October 2026 were offer prices, discounted from a listed original:

The 12-month plan costs about 2.3 times a single month, so it is cheaper than paying monthly from the third month onward. Plans of three months or more also include sessions at Cult centres in other cities (9 on the 3-month plan, 30 on the 12-month plan), which suits anyone who travels to Chennai or Bengaluru for work. A separate 12-month All India plan cost ₹29,490 for unlimited access to centres in every city.

The page also offered two free personal training sessions, with a body analysis and a workout plan. It listed no price for further one-to-one training. Offers on cult.fit change often, and on the day we looked the 12-month plan was ₹2,820 below its listed ₹19,450, so check the live price before paying.

Gym cost in Coimbatore over a full year

Monthly prices are easy to compare but misleading, because most people who join a gym in Coimbatore mean to stay for a year. This table turns each published figure into a 12-month bill, so the cheapest monthly price and the cheapest year can be seen side by side.

A typical local gym paid monthly and Cult's yearly plan land within about ₹2,000 of each other over a year, so the choice between them comes down to which is closer to home, which has the equipment you'll use, and whether you want classes. Paying Cult month by month costs more than five times as much as its yearly plan. If you aren't sure you'll last a year, a three-month plan (₹11,371 at Cult) is a cheaper test than three single months (₹22,032).

Is there a Gold's Gym or Anytime Fitness in Coimbatore?

Gold's Gym's own list of branches, checked in October 2026, shows no Coimbatore gym. Its Tamil Nadu branches are both in Chennai, at Adyar and Kotturpuram. We also couldn't confirm an Anytime Fitness club in Coimbatore from its India website. Coimbatore searches for chain gym fees therefore mostly end at Cult or at independent gyms.

Clubs are another option for some families. The Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club on Race Course Road, founded in 1891, is a private members' club; its Wikipedia entry lists tennis and badminton courts, billiards and a library. Neither the club nor its Wikipedia entry publishes membership fees or rules, so it isn't a way to compare monthly gym prices.

Multi-gym passes in Coimbatore: FITPASS

FITPASS sells one membership that works at its partner gyms and studios. Its Coimbatore page lists partners in localities including Amman Nagar, Anna Nagar, Arts College Road, Ashokapuram, Athipalayam and Avarampalayam. The plan prices it shows, ₹1,750 a month for FITPASS 180 and ₹2,083 a month for FITPASS 360, are the same on its other city pages, so they are national prices rather than Coimbatore rates.

Against Numbeo's ₹1,217 average, a FITPASS costs more than one ordinary local gym. It pays off if you'd use two places, say a gym near the office and another near home, or if you want to mix gym days with classes at studios that would each charge their own fee. Check that the partners near you are open at the hours you'd train before you buy.

Municipal and public gyms in Coimbatore

Some Indian cities publish fee schedules for corporation or sports-authority gyms. For Coimbatore, we couldn't find a published gym fee from the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation or from the Tamil Nadu sports authority in October 2026. If a stadium or corporation facility near you has a gym, ask at its office for the rate in writing; don't rely on a figure from a listings site.

Free training still exists: a park walk, a home routine with a pair of dumbbells, or bodyweight work on a terrace. The step up from those to a gym is mostly about heavier loads, which matter for strength and muscle. Gym monthly fees in Coimbatore: GST, joining fees and the fine print

• GST is 5%. Since 22 September 2025, gyms and health clubs charge 5% GST instead of 18%, without input tax credit, after the GST Council's decision reported by the Tribune. Ask whether the quoted fee includes it.
• Joining or admission fee. Some Coimbatore gyms add a one-time fee to the first month. Ask for it before you compare monthly prices.
• Pauses. Cult's longer plans include 5–60 pause days. Ask independent gyms whether they allow a freeze for travel or illness, and get it in writing.
• Hours and women's batches. Ask about early-morning opening, Sunday hours and whether there are women-only timings, since these vary from gym to gym.
• Trial first. Ask for a free or paid day pass at the time you'd normally train, so you see how crowded the floor is.

Adding a coach to a Coimbatore gym membership

A gym fee buys access; it doesn't buy a plan.
