The short answer: what personal training costs in India
There is no official price list for personal trainers in India, so every figure you see online is an estimate. Two sources are useful. magicpin, a deals platform, published a guide to personal trainer costs in India (updated May 2026) that puts monthly costs at gym chains at about ₹12,000 to ₹30,000, depending on the city. UrbanPro, a marketplace where trainers list their own rates, estimates ₹500 to ₹800 an hour for gym trainers across India.
Treat both as a starting point, not a quote. The chains don't publish these numbers themselves, and the UrbanPro figures aren't dated. Always ask the gym or trainer for their current price before you commit.

What changes the price of a personal trainer
Two trainers can charge very different amounts for what looks like the same hour. These are the factors that usually explain the gap.
- City. UrbanPro's estimates are higher in Mumbai and New Delhi (₹600 to ₹1,000 an hour) than in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Pune (₹500 to ₹800) or Chennai (₹500 to ₹700).
- Where you train. A trainer working inside a gym chain is usually sold as a monthly package on top of your membership. An independent trainer sets their own hourly rate.
- Experience and specialism. Trainers with recognised certifications, or a specialism such as injury rehab or sports conditioning, tend to charge more.
- How often you train. Monthly packages assume a set number of sessions. Training three times a week costs more than twice a week, even if the per-session price drops.
- Session length. Some trainers sell 60-minute sessions, others 45 or 30 minutes. Compare the price per minute of coaching, not just per session.
- Travel. A trainer who comes to your home spends time getting there, and that time is part of what you pay for, whether or not it's listed separately.
Per session or per month: how to do the maths
Most people train with a coach two or three times a week. That matches the World Health Organization's advice for adults to do muscle-strengthening activity on two or more days a week. Three sessions a week works out to about 12 to 13 sessions a month.
To compare offers fairly, divide the monthly price by the number of sessions it includes. A ₹18,000 monthly package with 12 sessions is ₹1,500 a session. Our 4-week plan of 12 one-to-one sessions costs ₹7,070, which is about ₹589 a session.
Gym-chain personal training: what you get
Training with a coach at a chain gym is convenient if you already go there. Equipment is on hand, the trainer can spot you on heavy lifts, and the gym usually handles booking. The trade-off is cost: according to magicpin, chain packages in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru commonly run into five figures a month, and they're added to your membership fee.
Ask what the package includes: how many sessions, how long each one lasts, whether there's a written plan, and whether you can move sessions if work gets in the way.
Home-visit trainers and online coaching at home
Many people search for a personal trainer at home because they don't want to go to a gym. There are two ways to get that. A home-visit trainer travels to you, brings or uses your equipment and can physically adjust your position. That hands-on help is valuable, especially for complete beginners. You pay for their travel time, and your session time depends on their schedule and the traffic.
Live online coaching keeps you at home too, but the coach joins on a video call instead. Nobody travels, so sessions are easier to fit around your day and usually cost less. The coach can't touch or spot you, so they rely on clear cues, camera angles and exercises that suit your space. For most healthy adults training at home, that works well. If you need hands-on support, an in-person trainer may suit you better.
What online personal training costs
Online coaching prices vary as much as in-person ones, from pre-recorded app plans to live one-to-one sessions. Our prices are the same in every city in India. Every session is live on video with a certified coach.
| Program | One session | 4-week plan (12 sessions) | Per session on the plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal Gym Training | ₹799 | ₹7,070 | about ₹589 |
| Personal Home Training | ₹899 | ₹8,080 | about ₹673 |
| Rehab & Recovery | ₹1,299 | ₹12,121 | about ₹1,010 |
| Group Classes (per person) | ₹499 | ₹4,040 | about ₹337 |
One-to-one sessions last 45 minutes. See the full breakdown, and what each plan includes, on our pricing page.

How to judge whether a trainer is worth the fee
The cheapest trainer isn't always the best value, and the most expensive isn't always the best coach. Look for these five things before you pay for a package.
- 1
Credentials you can check
Ask which certification they hold and how to verify it. Our guide on how to choose a personal trainer explains which ones to look for in India.
- 2
An assessment before the first workout
A good coach asks about your goal, your training history, injuries and health before they plan anything.
- 3
A written plan
You should know what you're working on each week and why, not just turn up and be told what to do.
- 4
Form feedback on every set
Whether in person or on video, the coach should watch you move and correct you. That's most of what you're paying for.
- 5
Progress you can see
Weights, reps, how you feel and how you move should be tracked, and the plan should change when they do.
Ways to keep the cost down
- Buy a package, not single sessions, once you know you like the coach. Our 4-week plans cost less per session than paying as you go.
- Try group coaching. A live group class with one coach costs ₹499 per person, or about ₹337 a class on a 4-week plan.
- Mix coached and solo days. Two coached sessions a week plus one session on your own, following your coach's plan, keeps costs down without losing direction.
- Cut the travel. Online coaching removes the commute for both you and the trainer, which is one reason it usually costs less.
- Use free tools first. Work out your numbers with our calorie deficit calculator and protein intake calculator before you pay anyone for a nutrition plan.
