Personal trainer fees in Trivandrum, sorted into four price bands
UrbanPro's Thiruvananthapuram personal trainer page, last updated 23 October 2026, carried 93 listings and gave an average of ₹750 an hour with a usual one-to-one range of ₹500–1,000. That headline average is a sitewide style of estimate. The cards themselves are more useful: 21 of the 25 trainers on the first page printed an hourly rate, and when we lined them up on 27 October 2026 they fell into four clear bands.
| Price band per hour | Trainers | Where they listed themselves |
|---|---|---|
| ₹200–350 | 5 | Jagathy, Medical College, Thirumala, Thonnakkal, one listed only as Trivandrum |
| ₹400–550 | 6 | Kazhakootam, Vattappara, Pappanamcode, Paruthippara Nalanchira, Netaji Road, Trivandrum |
| ₹600–700 | 7 | Sasthamangalam, Karyavattom, Mannanthala, Ambalathara, Karamana, Nalanchira, Trivandrum |
| ₹800–1,000 | 3 | Thonnakkal, Ambalamukku, Sasthamangalam |
The median of those 21 prices is ₹550 and the simple average about ₹545, both below UrbanPro's ₹750 headline. Nobody on the first page asked more than ₹1,000 an hour. Four trainers, in Nanthancode, Kazhakuttam, Kumarapuram and one listed as Trivandrum, kept their price behind a contact or demo button, which is common and says nothing about whether they are cheap or dear. Almost every card offered a free demo session.
In practice, a trainer in Thiruvananthapuram for three sessions a week costs roughly ₹2,400–12,000 a month depending on the band, and about ₹6,600 at the ₹550 median. The national guide to personal trainer fees shows how that sits against Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, where the same hour usually costs more.
Years of experience barely move a Thiruvananthapuram trainer's price
You might expect the trainer with 13 years behind them to charge three times what a beginner does. On Thiruvananthapuram's UrbanPro page that isn't how it works. The cards pair experience and price in ways that cut both ways, so treat years on a profile as one question to ask, not as a price guide.
| Listed experience | Locality on the card | Rate per hour |
|---|---|---|
| 13 years | Vattappara | ₹400 |
| 12 years | Ambalathara | ₹600 |
| 11 years | Ambalamukku | ₹1,000 |
| 10 years | Jagathy | ₹200 |
| 10 years | Thonnakkal | ₹800 |
| 7 years | Sasthamangalam | ₹999 |
| 1 year | Thonnakkal | ₹300 |
Two trainers with ten years each sit at ₹200 and ₹800. A seven-year trainer in Sasthamangalam charges almost what an eleven-year trainer in Ambalamukku does. The part of town, whether the trainer works out of a premium gym and whether they travel are likelier explanations, so ask each trainer what the price covers. Our guide on how to choose a personal trainer covers what to check beyond the number: certification, how they assess you, and how they track progress.
Kazhakoottam and Technopark: fitting a trainer around IT shifts
Technopark in Kazhakoottam is Thiruvananthapuram's IT campus, and many of the jobs there follow a US or UK client's working day rather than a Kerala one. A trainer near Technopark has to fit sessions around late logins and early finishes, and the cards in that belt reflect a range rather than a premium: ₹400 in Kazhakootam, ₹600 in Karyavattom, and a Kazhakuttam trainer with no published rate.
- Ask how the trainer handles a shift change. If your project moves you from a day shift to a 2 PM login for a quarter, will the trainer move with you or count missed sessions as used?
- Check whether the price includes the gym. Some Kazhakoottam trainers work inside one gym, so you pay its membership as well; others coach in an apartment gym or at home.
- Keep travel out of it if you can. A trainer in Sasthamangalam is a long ride from a flat near Technopark, and an hour-long session that needs a cross-city trip each way rarely survives a release week.
Our live video sessions run from 6 AM to 8 PM India time every day, so an early slot before a late login, or a 7 PM slot after a day shift, both work from a flat in Kazhakoottam or Sreekaryam without anyone travelling. The personal gym training page for Trivandrum explains how a coach watches your sets in the gym through your phone.
Gym-floor trainers in Thiruvananthapuram: Gold's Gym Sasthamangalam and neighbourhood gyms
Gold's Gym's Trivandrum branch in Sasthamangalam is the only national-chain gym in Thiruvananthapuram with its own published price page, and it is one of three Gold's branches in Kerala along with Kochi and Thrissur. Its page lists an annual membership of ₹20,850 including a ₹1,000 enrolment fee and 5% GST (checked October 2026). It names professional trainers but publishes no personal training fee. Gold's Gym's India business has been run by cult.fit since cult.fit took a majority stake in the master franchise in February 2022.
For a chain trainer's price, the nearest published figure is magicpin's national guide (updated May 2026), which estimates Gold's Gym personal training at ₹18,000–30,000 a month in Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru. It doesn't cover Kerala, and a Sasthamangalam quote may be well below that. The only way to know is to ask the branch for the package in writing: number of sessions, how long each one lasts, GST, and whether it is on top of the ₹20,850.
What the membership itself costs across Thiruvananthapuram, from neighbourhood gyms to the state's indoor stadium complex, is in our guide to gym fees in Trivandrum.
Home and online personal trainers listed in Thiruvananthapuram
Six of the 25 Thiruvananthapuram trainer cards mentioned online sessions, and three also mentioned home training. Their published prices were ₹200 (Medical College, home and online), ₹300 (Thonnakkal, home and online), ₹650 (Karamana, home and online), ₹700 and ₹999 (online), and one Nanthancode trainer with ten years listed who asked to be contacted. Home visits in Thiruvananthapuram carry the same practical issues as anywhere hilly and green: travel time between Kowdiar, Peroorkada and Vattiyoorkavu adds up, and June-to-September rain cancels sessions.
- 1
Agree a rain rule
Before the first payment, settle whether a session the trainer cancels for heavy rain is moved, refunded or lost. Write it in a WhatsApp message both of you keep.
- 2
Count the equipment
A home trainer who arrives with two dumbbells and a band can only do so much. Ask what they bring, or whether you need to buy a set of adjustable dumbbells first.
- 3
Ask how online sessions are run
A coach who sends a PDF and checks in weekly is not the same as one who watches every set live on video. Ask which it is, and whether they correct form during the set.
- 4
Try a demo before a month
Nearly every Thiruvananthapuram card offered a free demo. Two demos with different trainers cost nothing and tell you more than any profile.
MakeMyFitness next to a Trivandrum trainer: the monthly numbers
MakeMyFitness is not a Thiruvananthapuram gym and has no trainers who visit homes. Every session is a live one-to-one video call with a certified coach who watches your form and corrects it as you move. Our prices are the same in every city:
| Program | One session | 4-week plan (12 sessions) | Per session on the plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal Gym Training1:1, 45 minutes | ₹799 | ₹7,070 | about ₹589 |
| Personal Home Training1:1, 45 minutes | ₹899 | ₹8,080 | about ₹673 |
| Rehab & Recovery1:1, once a doctor or physio has cleared you | ₹1,299 | ₹12,121 | about ₹1,010 |
| Group ClassesPer person, small group | ₹499 | ₹4,040 | about ₹337 |
| Option | Rate | 12 sessions | Who travels |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lowest UrbanPro band | ₹200–350 an hour | ₹2,400–4,200 | Usually you, to their gym |
| UrbanPro median card | ₹550 an hour | ₹6,600 | Depends on the trainer |
| Top UrbanPro band | ₹800–1,000 an hour | ₹9,600–12,000 | Depends on the trainer |
| MakeMyFitness gym training | 45 minutes, live video | ₹7,070 on the 4-week plan | Nobody: you train at your own gym |
| MakeMyFitness home training | 45 minutes, live video | ₹8,080 on the 4-week plan | Nobody: you train at home |
Our sessions are 45 minutes and UrbanPro rates are quoted per hour, so the comparison is not exact. At the lower bands a local trainer is cheaper than we are, and if you want someone standing beside you, that is the better buy. Where we are worth a look is if your hours move with a Technopark shift, if you already pay for a gym and want a coach only for your sets, or if you live in a part of Thiruvananthapuram where none of the listed trainers is close. The Trivandrum personal home training page shows what a session at home looks like, and our pricing page has the full plan details.
Trivandrum trainers for people recovering from an injury or starting late
Not everyone looking for a trainer in Thiruvananthapuram is young and injury-free. Some have been told by a doctor to start exercising after surgery, a fracture or a long illness, and some are starting in their fifties or sixties. None of the 25 UrbanPro cards described rehabilitation training, and a general gym trainer may never have coached someone after a knee replacement or a disc problem.
If that's you, get clearance from your doctor or physiotherapist first, then look for a coach who asks for that clearance and works within it. Our Rehab & Recovery program in Trivandrum is exercise coaching after clearance, at ₹1,299 a session; it is not physiotherapy and does not diagnose or treat anything.
Trivandrum outdoors: what to pair with a trainer
Paying a trainer for three sessions a week leaves four days for walking, riding and the hills. Our guide to cycling in Trivandrum covers routes and clubs around the city, and treks near Trivandrum lists the day hikes worth training for. If food is the harder part, healthy food in Trivandrum works through the local dishes. For everything we offer in the city, start at online personal training in Thiruvananthapuram.
