The short answer: what online coaching costs per month
Nobody publishes an official rate card for online personal training in India, and most services quote a month without saying how many sessions are in it. So this guide does the opposite: it shows exactly what a month costs with MakeMyFitness, session by session, and then shows you how to put any other monthly price on the same footing.
A MakeMyFitness month of 12 live one-to-one sessions, three a week with a certified coach on video for the full 45 minutes, is ₹7,070 at your gym or ₹8,080 at home: about ₹589 to ₹673 a session, paid once, with nothing that renews. Post-rehab coaching is ₹12,121 for 12, and a live group class is ₹4,040 per person for 12. Those are prices, not estimates, and they are the same in every city in India.
| Program | 12 sessions a month | 8 sessions a month | Per session on a plan | Who watches you train |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Personal Gym Training | ₹7,070 | about ₹4,713 | about ₹589 | A certified coach, live on video, every set |
| Personal Home Training | ₹8,080 | about ₹5,387 | about ₹673 | A certified coach, live on video, every set |
| Rehab & Recovery | ₹12,121 | about ₹8,081 | about ₹1,010 | A certified coach, once your physio clears you |
| Group Classes, per person | ₹4,040 | about ₹2,693 | about ₹337 | One certified coach for the whole group |
Why monthly prices vary so much
- Sessions a week. This is the biggest factor by far. Most services tier by two, three, or four or more sessions a week. Twelve sessions a month, three a week, is the common middle, and it is what a MakeMyFitness 4-week plan is.
- Live coaching or a plan with check-ins. A coach on a video call for every session is a different product from an app that sends a programme and checks in by chat. Every MakeMyFitness session is the first kind. Compare like with like.
- Who the coach is. Named qualifications and experience push prices up, and they should. Our lead coach's K11 diploma and nutrition credential are on his page, and our guide to choosing a personal trainer shows how to verify anyone's.
- Where you are: not much. Online coaching costs the same in Jaipur as in Mumbai. Only in-person training carries a metro premium, which is one reason a live online coach beats a gym-chain package on price.
- What's bundled. Diet plans, app access and progress reviews are sometimes included, sometimes charged on top. With us the session is the product: the coach, the plan, your session page and WhatsApp reminders are all in the one price.
Work out your own month
Pick a program and how often you'd train. The calculator uses our current price list, so the numbers are the ones you'd actually pay, and it shows a 4-week month both ways: on plans, and paying per session.
Which program?
How many sessions a week?
Rupees for your month on 4-week plans
- 12 live sessions a month, about ₹673 each on a plan.
- ₹10,788 if you pay ₹899 per session instead.
- No subscription. A plan is 12 sessions to use within 6 weeks of the first, so at two a week it simply lasts longer.
Turn your number into a plan
A good place to start: Personal Home Training
Book one session first and see what a live coach is like before you commit to a plan.
Two things to know about the maths. A 4-week plan is 12 sessions, meant for three a week, and it stays valid for 6 weeks from the first session, so at two sessions a week a plan simply lasts longer. And there is no subscription: you pay for a session or a plan, and nothing renews by itself.
Per session or per month: the only fair comparison
Monthly prices hide the thing that matters. Divide by the sessions included. ₹18,000 a month for 16 sessions is ₹1,125 a session; ₹6,000 for 8 is ₹750; our ₹7,070 for 12 at the gym is about ₹589, and ₹8,080 for 12 at home is about ₹673. A per-session price also tells you what a missed month really costs, which a subscription never does.
- 1
Ask for the session count
Not "how much a month" but "how many live sessions, how long each, and what happens if I miss one". Our sessions are 45 minutes and can be moved with 24 hours' notice.
- 2
Divide
Monthly price divided by sessions. Write it next to every option you're comparing.
- 3
Check what's extra
Diet plans, app subscriptions, renewal terms, lock-in periods. A low monthly figure with a 3-month minimum is not low.
- 4
Try one session before a plan
Every honest service lets you. We sell single sessions at the full per-session price, so a trial costs exactly what it says.
What a live session includes at our prices
- A certified coach on a Google Meet video call for the whole 45 minutes, watching every set and correcting your form as you go.
- A plan built for your goal, your space and the equipment you have, adjusted session by session.
- Your own session page with the video link, sent on WhatsApp, and a reminder before each session.
- Rescheduling with 24 hours' notice, and no automatic renewal. Full terms are in the booking policy.
Is online cheaper than a gym trainer?
Usually, and for structural reasons rather than discounting. Nobody travels, so nobody bills for travel. You keep the gym you already pay for instead of buying a premium package on top of it. And a live online session is one coach for one client for the full 45 minutes, where a floor trainer at a gym is often shared between members. A MakeMyFitness session at your own gym is ₹799, or about ₹589 on a 4-week plan. Our guide to personal trainer fees in India sets that against the published estimates for gym packages.
How to pay less without a worse coach
- Buy twelve, not one. A 4-week plan brings a gym session from ₹799 to about ₹589, and a home session from ₹899 to about ₹673.
- Train with others. A live group class with one coach is ₹499 per person, or about ₹337 a class on a plan.
- Two sessions a week, done every week, beats four sessions a week for a month and then nothing. Two strength sessions a week is also what the World Health Organization's guidelines ask of adults, so it is a full dose, not a compromise.
- Use your own gym. If you already pay for one, coaching there is our lowest one-to-one price.
