Gym personal trainer fees in Ahmedabad: municipal or private
Ahmedabad gives you a choice most Indian cities don't: a trainer at a municipal gym with a printed fee, or one at a private gym where the price is whatever you agree. The gap between them runs from a few hundred rupees to five figures a month, and no chain publishes what its Ahmedabad trainers cost. Below, the two sides are set next to each other using the AMC's fee schedule as the press reported it, a marketplace where trainers set their own rates, and a deals platform's estimates, all checked on 27 October 2026.
| Where you train | Gym fee | Trainer fee | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| AMC Ranip gym, non-AC (run under a PPP) | ₹300 a month | ₹500; sessions covered not stated | AMC schedule, via DeshGujarat |
| AMC Ranip gym, AC | ₹500 a month | ₹700; sessions covered not stated | AMC schedule, via DeshGujarat |
| Private gym, independent trainer | Your gym's own fee | ₹500–800 an hour (average ₹650) | UrbanPro, Ahmedabad page |
| Private gym, trainers listing in the western suburbs | Your gym's own fee | ₹350–1,000 an hour | UrbanPro trainer cards |
| Anytime Fitness, Ashram Road | ₹1,499 a month | Not published; ₹12,000–20,000 a month nationally | magicpin |
| MakeMyFitness on live video | Any gym, or none | ₹799 a session; ₹7,070 for 12 | Our price list |
UrbanPro's national fee table covers six big cities and leaves Ahmedabad out, so the ₹650 average is taken from its Ahmedabad listings page, not a separate city survey. Treat it as the middle of a wide spread.
The AMC's Ranip gym: a published personal training fee
Few Indian municipal corporations put a personal training fee in writing; Ahmedabad's has. In November 2025 the AMC announced fees for its new gymnasium and library in Ranip, operated by the Soft Tennis Association of Gujarat under a five-year public-private partnership. Members pay ₹300 a month for the non-AC gym or ₹500 for the AC one, and the personal training fee is ₹500 and ₹700 respectively.
The report leaves three things unclear: how many sessions the personal training fee covers, whether it is charged monthly, and whether it is added to the member fee. Ask at the Ranip desk what ₹500 or ₹700 actually buys, whether that's a fixed number of coached sessions, a written plan or general supervision on the floor. Read generously, it is the cheapest coached option we found in Ahmedabad, but a full hour of one-to-one attention at that price would be rare, so get the terms on paper. Member fees for Ranip and the AMC's other gyms, such as the Vastral Sports Complex, are in our guide to gym fees in Ahmedabad.
Here is how the numbers might add up in a month, with that caveat in mind. If the Ranip fee turns out to be monthly and on top of membership, the non-AC gym with a trainer is ₹800 and the AC gym ₹1,200. Twelve sessions with a private trainer at UrbanPro's ₹650 average come to ₹7,800 before your gym's own fee. At Anytime Fitness on Ashram Road, the ₹1,499 membership plus magicpin's national trainer estimate of ₹12,000–20,000 gives ₹13,499–21,499.
Prahladnagar, Bodakdev and Chandkheda: what private trainers ask
UrbanPro's Ahmedabad gym page showed 270+ listings on the day we checked (updated 17 October 2026), averaging ₹650 an hour. Its first page leaned heavily towards the western suburbs on and around SG Highway, with a second cluster in Chandkheda to the north. These are the rates the individual trainers chose:
| Locality | Rate per hour | Years in the job |
|---|---|---|
| Vastrapur (two trainers) | ₹350 and ₹900 | 5 and 7 |
| Prahladnagar (three trainers) | ₹500, ₹700 and ₹800 | 12, 3 and 4 |
| Naranpura Vistar | ₹500 | 1 |
| Satellite | ₹700 | 3 |
| Bodakdev | ₹1,000 | 12 |
| Chandkheda (three trainers) | ₹625, ₹1,000 and ₹2,000 | 4, 5 and 6 |
The western suburbs sit in a tight ₹500–1,000 band, apart from one Vastrapur trainer at ₹350. The single dearest rate on the page, ₹2,000, came from Chandkheda rather than the smart end of SG Highway. Seniority is no guide either: the Prahladnagar trainer with 12 years asked ₹500, less than two neighbours with three and four. Eight of the 25 listings were gyms or institutes, in Satellite, Bodakdev, Maninagar, Ghatlodia and Paldi, and none of those showed a trainer price, so you'd have to walk in and ask.
No individual trainer on that first page named the walled city or the eastern areas such as Maninagar or Naroda; Maninagar's only entry was a gym. East of the river, you're more likely to find a trainer at your local gym, or one who comes over from the west and charges for the trip.
A trainer at your Ahmedabad home: heat, garba and the Sabarmati
Home training in Ahmedabad is priced like gym training on UrbanPro, ₹500–800 an hour, or ₹6,000–9,600 for 12 visits. UrbanPro's own FAQ adds that online classes usually cost less than home visits because trainers would rather not travel. Here the travel has a calendar too. From March to June everyone wants the early slots before the heat builds, and during Navratri many evenings belong to garba. Fix your slot, and what happens in festival weeks, before the first session.
- Bungalows in Bopal, Thaltej or Shilaj usually have space for a trainer to bring dumbbells and bands. A flat in Satellite or Vastrapur may mean bodyweight work in the living room.
- Ask about a travel charge if the trainer lives on the other side of the Sabarmati.
- Agree the festival weeks. Navratri, Diwali and Uttarayan all take a bite out of training. Decide in advance whether missed sessions carry over.
For home training without a visitor, Personal Home Training in Ahmedabad happens over live video, and the coach plans around the coolest room in the house and the hours that suit the season. If you already pay for a gym, Personal Gym Training in Ahmedabad brings the same coach to your session there.
Anytime Fitness and Gold's Gym trainers in Ahmedabad
Anytime Fitness has Ahmedabad clubs including Navrangpura and one on Ashram Road near Lal Darwaja, which magicpin lists at ₹1,499 a month for membership. Neither it nor any other chain we checked puts an Ahmedabad trainer price online. magicpin's 2026 national estimate for Anytime Fitness personal training is ₹12,000–20,000 a month, and its Gold's Gym guide puts the trainer add-on at ₹500–1,500 a session. Both are all-India figures, so ask the club for an Ahmedabad quote in writing.
Per session, a chain package at those estimates can run two to three times what an independent Prahladnagar trainer lists. The difference pays for the gym's equipment, a trainer who is there every day and the chain's booking system. Whether that's worth it is about how much you value the setting, not the coaching hour itself.
Coaching on video from an Ahmedabad home: cost and limits
A live video coach in Ahmedabad covers most of what a home-visit trainer does, except anything involving touch. They can't take the weight on a heavy lift, nudge your knees into line in a squat or steady you on a balance drill. If you've never trained, or you're coming back after an injury, a handful of in-person sessions first are worth the money. For most healthy adults, a coach who sees every rep through the phone and cues each one covers what matters, from 6 AM, with nobody crossing the city.
| Program | One session | 4-week plan (12 sessions) | Per session on the plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal Gym Training1:1, 45 minutes | ₹799 | ₹7,070 | about ₹589 |
| Personal Home Training1:1, 45 minutes | ₹899 | ₹8,080 | about ₹673 |
| Rehab & Recovery1:1, once a doctor or physio has cleared you | ₹1,299 | ₹12,121 | about ₹1,010 |
| Group ClassesPer person, small group | ₹499 | ₹4,040 | about ₹337 |
Each one-to-one session is 45 minutes, with slots from 6 AM to 8 PM daily, and the 4-week plan is three sessions a week. On that plan a session costs ₹589, just under UrbanPro's ₹650 Ahmedabad average, but because ours are 45 minutes the per-minute price ends up a little higher. The savings are the drive and the flexibility, not the hourly rate. Every plan is on our pricing page.
What to ask an Ahmedabad trainer before you pay
- 1
Which certificate, and where can I check it?
SPEFL-SC, the Sports, Physical Education, Fitness and Leisure Skills Council, keeps a trainer listing and a verification portal. Our guide to choosing a trainer you can trust explains which certificates to look for.
- 2
Can you plan around a vegetarian or Jain diet?
Many Ahmedabad clients eat no meat or eggs, and some skip root vegetables too. A good trainer builds a protein target from dal, paneer, curd, chana and soya instead of pushing chicken and eggs. Our protein intake calculator gives you a number to start from.
- 3
What changes in summer and festival weeks?
Ask whether sessions move earlier from March to June, and whether sessions missed during Navratri or Diwali carry over.
- 4
What happens in the first session?
It should open with questions about your goal, health and training history, not a punishing workout.
- 5
Can I pay month by month?
Don't hand over three or six months in advance until you know the trainer suits you.
