The short answer
"Best" has a plain meaning when the product is training: the service that most reliably gets you moving well, often, and safely. Five things decide that, and the whole of MakeMyFitness is built around them.
- A live coach, every session. Someone watching you on video and correcting you on the rep, not a plan you follow alone.
- One client per session. Forty-five minutes of the coach's attention, not a class of twenty or a chat thread.
- A coach you can verify. A named person with named credentials, not a pool of profiles. Our lead coach's K11 diploma and nutrition credential are on his page.
- Honest pricing. A price per session, in rupees, with nothing hidden and nothing that renews by itself.
- A real trial. One session, at the normal price, before you commit to anything.
The four kinds of online personal training, and what each gets wrong
Everything sold as "online personal training" in India falls into one of four kinds. Three of them leave the hardest part of training, doing it right, to you.
| Kind | What you get | What it leaves out | MakeMyFitness instead |
|---|---|---|---|
| Coaching apps | A programme and a diet plan in an app, with check-ins by chat | Nobody sees you train. Form, effort and pain are self-reported | A coach on a live video call for every session, watching every set |
| Class subscriptions | Scheduled group workouts on a video call, one instructor, many screens | The instructor can't watch everyone, and can't change the class for you | Live group classes with one coach who knows your name, and one-to-one sessions when you want the attention |
| Trainer marketplaces | A directory of individual trainers at their own prices | You do the vetting: certificates, whether sessions are live, how many clients at once | A coach we have verified, in a format we are responsible for |
| Live one-to-one coaching | A certified coach on video, one client, every session | Nothing, if the coach is good and the price is honest | This is what we sell, from ₹799 a session, with no subscription |

The evidence: coached training beats training alone
This isn't a matter of taste. A 2022 systematic review and meta-analysis of supervised versus unsupervised resistance training found that supervision produced greater strength gains and better adherence, and that the benefit was largest for people with the least experience. The World Health Organization asks adults for at least two days of strength work a week; the thing that gets most people from zero to two is a person waiting for them on the call. Our guide to whether online personal training is worth it goes through the research.
How a MakeMyFitness session works
- 1
Book in two minutes
Pick a format, answer four or five questions about your goal, pick a day and a time. The team calls to confirm your coach and slot.
- 2
Get your session page on WhatsApp
A private page with the Google Meet link and the time in IST. A reminder arrives before the session.
- 3
Train live, one to one
Prop your phone two metres away. Your coach checks in, warms you up, runs three or four movements with cues on every rep, and cools you down. Forty-five minutes.
- 4
Get the plan for next time
Two or three things to work on, and the next slot. Move it with 24 hours' notice if life gets in the way.
Our prices, with nothing hidden
| Program | Per session | 4-week plan of 12 | Per session on the plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal Gym Training | ₹799 | ₹7,070 | about ₹589 |
| Personal Home Training | ₹899 | ₹8,080 | about ₹673 |
| Rehab & Recovery | ₹1,299 | ₹12,121 | about ₹1,010 |
| Group Classes, per person | ₹499 | ₹4,040 | about ₹337 |
You pay once, by a secure payment link, for a session or a plan. Nothing renews. What a month costs at two, three or four sessions a week, and how to compare any monthly price fairly, is in our cost-per-month guide.
Still comparing? Ask every service these
- Is every session live on video with the coach watching me? Ours: yes.
- Who is my coach, and where can I check their certification? Ours: Kumar Abhishek, credentials and issuing institutes on his page.
- How many clients are in a session? Ours: one, or a small group in a class you chose.
- What is the price per session, and does anything renew? Ours: ₹799, ₹899, ₹1,299 or ₹499; nothing renews.
- What happens if I miss a session? Ours: move it with 24 hours' notice, as the booking policy says.
- Can I try one session first? Ours: yes, at the normal price.
Who we're not for
Three groups should look elsewhere, and we'd rather say so. If your goal is testing one-rep maxes, you need a spotter in the room. If you have a new injury, pain that is getting worse or recent surgery, you need a doctor or physiotherapist before any trainer; our Rehab & Recovery coaching starts after they clear you. And if you want no live interaction at all, an app is the honest choice. Everyone else gets more from a coach who can see them.
